Anyone else seen/have a brush like this?

It's my shaving brush I took from my father. It's a Flamingo made in GDR/German Democratic Republic/ and I'm pretty sure it's badger hair. It might be a little worn but it makes a great job with creating latherDoes anyone else seen or have that brush?

Some higher quality pictures may help. Correct me if I am wrong, but by the looks of the hair, I believe that is boar.

I am sorry for the quality of the picture. I took it with my cellphone camera. I will take another picture when I get some Duracell's for my camera The bristles are actually darker than my boar brush they're light brown and the brush is softer than my boar brush However I cannot determine wheter it is actually badger or not

It looks a lot like the one on the left in this picture, though not exactly the same.. Mine doesn't have any markings on it, so I really don't know anything about it.

That definitely appears to be boar, just old yellowed boar.

So it wouldn't be a mistake to get a badger brush seeing as I have 2 boar brushes right?

And btw Jack , what is your opinion on synthetic brushes? Have you ever tried one ? I've been planning for a fair amount of time to get a badger as well as a synthetic hair brush to have the ultimate comparison base between brushes

I've tried a couple. (A vintage handle I re-knotted with a nylon knot from the Golden Nib, and a Vulfix-made one I picked up on Ebay.) My experience has been that they are wonderfully soft, but terrible lather hogs. I'll still use one occasionally. They feel really nice on the skin.

Definitely boar. You can make out a couple of split tips in those photos.
