Anyone doing Intermittent Fasting?

I have been doing 16:8 intermittent fasting for the last few weeks with good results. That’s 16 hours fasting with 8 hour eating period. I learned about it from Dr. Jason Fung the author of Obesity Code. He’s an obesity and diabetes specialist. He has a some useful videos online.
Anyone else fasting?

I'd be kind of curious to try it. What are the good results? Weight loss? Blood sugar levels? By intermittant does that mean weekly? Monthly? How often?

We did modified fasting.

One day of food, second day minimal intake.

It did not work for us. Like food too much.

Weight loss has been the main benefit. We have only been doing daily intermittent 16:8 fasting for less than two months and haven’t done any blood work.

Main thing I’ve learned from Dr. Jason Fung is obesity is mostly a hormonal issue (insulin). Controlling insulin is key.

That would be difficult for me too. Having an eight hour eating window has been easier by eating a late breakfast and an early dinner.

I've been doing this for about the last month.

Daily I eat only between the hours of noon and eight in the Evening.

The first few days were rough breaking the habit of eating early after rising but after that it's been pretty easy.

I've noticed I can't eat as much because my stomach probably has shrunk. I've also noticed some weight loss as after the initial noon meal I can't eat much until the dinner hour at seven in the Evening (our traditional hour to eat dinner). Most times I eat nothing in between meals because I'm still feeling full and not hungry. Rarely I'll have a light snack around four in the Afternoon if I've been more physically active that day.

So far I like it. It kind of mimics the way I'd eat in my late teen years which, at the time, I was very happy with.

Also did the 16:8. Once i got past first couple of days, seemed to get easier. Worked out well. Definitely nice change of pace from eating every 2-3 hours.

I tried but could not discipline myself well enough. That and my work schedule made it very difficult.

Great info on it here ...

... I try to do it more often than not.

I am into the 21st week of a 5-2 intermittent fasting approach. I try to really restrict what I each on Mondays and Thursdays. Have not been able to keep to it while on vacation, but otherwise have been pretty good. Have managed to fit back into clothes I had "out grown." Has gotten easier over time. FWIW.

I have been, not religiously but fairly regularly. I’ve done some longer ones, 24 to 60+ hours but the 16:8 most commonly.
Also inspired by The Obesity Code. It was a really interesting read, got me into Keto as well. 20lbs down in 3 months, I’m happy with it. Easiest way to lose weight I’ve ever experienced.

I think of intermittent fasting as "The Bob Newhart Diet".

You are eating?
