Anyone bowl lather and apply with hands?

I recently started using pacific shave oil by itself resulting in the best shaves I have ever gotten. However, I love to lather creams and soaps.
I don't like the idea of getting this shave oil in my savile row when using the shave oil as a pre-shave. To avoid this I considered whipping the lather up in a bowl and applying to my face with my hands.
Has anyone done this? Does it work ok?

I often whip up the lather in a bowl, the twirl the lathered brush on my hand to apply to my face. I like the feeling that I am getting the lather spread on my face more densely this way. I don't see why you couldn't do something similar.

You don't need to worry about your brush if the oil you are using is Pacific Shave company shaving oil.

Go to www.qedusa.com and click on the product as if you were going to buy it. There is a link there to an experiment that a shaver did with his badger brush and this particular oil. It is most impressive.

bottom line is that you can use your hands if you want to, but there's no reason in the world not to use your brush.
