What's new

Another Tony Miller work of art has arrived....

Hey Guys,

Well, after my "what strop should I buy?" thread I ended up going with a TM 3" Red Latigo Artisan with cotton. I got both the handles and the D rings, as well as a practice strop.

I tried to get the whole process in pictures. I've seen guys do that with their scores before and I think it's pretty cool.

So....without further ado....here are some pics...

Yeah....I kinda like the black look. It should be noted that this strop feels like it weighs 50lbs! It is STOUT. Can't wait to use it tonight when I shave.

I wanted to order one but they sold out so fast i didn't get one this run...maybe i'll be quick next time.. it not maybe the next or the next ...lol

People must really love his strops is all I can say.

Yeah....they sell out pretty quick! It's no wonder...they're very well built.

My strop before was a Filly....which is a great starter strop....but it doesn't hold a candle to this puppy.

Not that I'm saying anything bad about Ken's strops. I'm sure if I went with one of his high end models (like the Paladin) I'd be blown away too. But I can't see wanting to use anything other than this Miller for a very long time.

Its awesome!

Speaking of horse butts…
Thank you guys, really.

I know some fellows were not fans of the black, others loved it. I just found that I had more consistancy of color if I stayed with black for handles and trim as the black hides are always black, while the burgundy ones ranged from an orangish red to a near hershey bar brown. The caps and handles are from a different type of latigo not well suited for strop bodies and the strop body latigo is not as nice for handles.

Anyway, thank you so much for the nice comments.

No Tony....thank you for supplying a great product at a reasonable price. I feel like I got every penny worth. I can see now why everyone told me to go to you. Good work speaks for itself:thumbup1:

Sounds like you are going to have to purchase a second strop!

You mean a fourth strop? I've already got two from Tony... He just needs to send me that mounting hardware...

edit: Three real strops that I actually use that is. I've got one travel strop lying on my floor and one that Mark is borrowing. Oh no!!! Strop AD!!! (SAD)

I definitely hear what you're saying. I've got a red latigo strop and two pasting strops of yours. The latigo strop and trim aren't the same color, and the red latigo trim on the other pasting strops aren't the same color either, lol. I can understand the need for consistency like that, and when looking at horsehide/linen/black latigo trim, it all really blends nicely. If I ever break down, that'd be the next one I get, since I don't simply want to get replacement pieces.
