What's new

Another good day in the wild in Canada - My THIRD Eclipse find! Cased even!

Well I was out on a drive to the exotic wood store in Hamilton to buy some wood for brush handles and I decided to stop in at one of my regular stops - a big old antique market that I hit about once every few months.

It had been a while since I visited, and I remembered this recent thread about a fellow Canuck scoring an Eclipse razor at another market near me. With that in mind, I walked in.

Not even kidding - the first case I walked up to inside had these :

Amazing! My THIRD Eclipse find in the wild near me - and my first cased one to boot. The case and head are minty, but the handle has some significant brassing. Might have to ship this one off to Krona for a makeover in silver :)

The old type was clean and decent - I bought it more for the excellent condition gold thatch ABC type case, and the straight was in excellent shape with a barber's notch which I've been looking for.

All in - roughly $40. The Eclipse was $13.

I'm beginning to wonder if Eclipse had a factory outlet around here somewhere in the 30s :)

Nice find, to bad I live in the city and have no places to look, I am jealous, but seriously Congrats. Thanks for sharing )

Yep, and I turned down an offer to join in on the hunt. I had to keep 'the dragon lady' happy by working on the house. :cursing:
Great finds bud!

A HUGE congrats! I'm seeing a pattern here. Looks like your in Eclipse land while I'm in Toggle country. One day I'll find one I'm sure as we're neighbors.

Ha! That makes both of us. Had new tile to install with a friends help. A project, but well worth it. No hunting for me!
