Got this one on the bay on the cheap. It came today, a little cleaning and voila'! Looks to be a G-8. Case is poifect!

G's are not designed to be opened. Only the early E's and the HydroMagics are able to be opened. Some people "have" moved the lever on a G to the left just like an E by forcing it past the tab at the top of the spring that holds it in place but I don't think anyone recommends this. The risk of permanently damaging your razor is too great and it might forever loosen blade bed area. I wouldn't do it.

Thank you ShavinBacon. I like to look before I leap. After a good cleaning and when the new blade went in, it cleaned out. Happy Camper . And thanks again!
