I was considering having a flare tip replated. But, I don't want the normal replate. I remember seeing some replates that were in black nickel and black rhodium. One in particular caught my eye and had black doors and handle and silver base, TTO mechanism and blade guide door divider. It looked sharp and thought about that, but I can't find the thread nor can I remember who did the work. But that is what I am looking for, replate option that is different. However, the only options I have seen are the normal nickel, rhodium, and gold. Any suggestions?

OCRazorman also does a lot of black replate. He is constantly selling them on the bay. Looks pretty good.

Colour of plating of course results from the chemicals used.
Because most of the requests are for Bright Nickel, Rhodium, Gold or Silver, that's what we tend to have in stock and in larger quantities.
It's straightforward for us to obtain Black Rhodium, Rose Gold etc but minimum quantities are usually 100ml which for Black Rhodium is around $150 in chemicals alone (depending on metal prices at the time). So I personally would need a few requests before committing to order a particular solution.
That said, I have a few Fatboys on the way for Black Rhodium work, so Black Rhodium Solution is on order.

I've completed a couple of Fatboy replates in Black Chrome for some of the guys. I didn't think that I'd like the look of the finish, but it really looks great - especially on a Fatboy or I suppose - Slim Adjustable.
The razor in Black Chrome reminds me of the Alien Film for some reason
Anyway, I'll post a few pics tonight.
