Amazing Brush Scuttle

I strictly face lather, but got a R.Becker brush scuttle for the cooler winter weather and did I ever appreciate it this morning. We've got a cold front comming through So. TX and it sure was nice to put a warm lather on my face for the second pass and touch ups. Now I see what gents find great about scuttles.

Gotta love the Texan talkin about cold weather :001_tt2:

Really though, I think this is the year I try one of these bad boys out! Post some pics!

Hey man.... Having to put on a jacket is brutal. It goes below 60/15C, and we break out the firewood. BUUUUUUURRRRRRR!

Warm lather is nice any time of year and especially nice when the weather gets cooler. And yes, it does get cooler here in Texas; SWMBO convinced me we should have a fire in the fireplace to which I quickly agreed.

Is 18 degrees in the morning with a wind chill around 0 cold enough for you? Also forecasted 3-6"of snow tomorrow too.

Cold in Texas? It's -30c (-22f) in Saskatoon right now! :p

I regularly use a Becker 'travel' scuttle as my brush scuttle. Awesome, handmade and downright cheap compared to other scuttles on the market.

I am breaking out my scuttle this morning. Cold front came through yesterday. It is 45 outside right now. Burr!

I have a Becker travel scuttle on order for use as a brush scuttle.

Where we live in Mex it gets below freezing part of the year (as a low, gets up into the 50's or low 60's high usually in the winter) and houses do not have warm water in the sinks. The water in plastic tanks on top of the houses is cold in the mornings this time of the year.

Here in E Texas we get wild swings in weather. I think I saw pn weather where in Houston it was mid 80's yesterday morning and low 40's by afternoon, and extremely humid. I am about 200 miles north and we went from mid 70's to mid 40's overnight, humidity about 90
%. It's air conditioning one day, heat the next, and sometimes in same day.

It's hard to get used to cold weather when its hot one day and cold the next. I have been in very cold , -30 to -40 weather and with no humidity, it does not seem as bad as ours around the freezing point with high humidity. Add wind in and its a whole new ball game.

Temps do not drop as low down here in the south, but it does get cold and very uncomfortable.

So much for my rant, think I'll go fire up my scuttle and have a nice warm shave!!

You might not think it but it gets cold here in New Orleans too. Sometimes it gets so cold that the women keep their shirts ON!

I can remember my father taking my mother and I down there back in the late 40's-very early 50's, when I was a very young boy. It was cold. I can say the same thing about Lake Charles, with the wind coming off the lake. That's about all I remember about those two places, cold and wet in the winter.

That's the same here in mexico. It will be cold in the morning (ice on car windows) and very hot up in the day in the sun.

We live at an altitude of about 9000 and when it gets in the 70's the sun will burn you very quick. It's much different at this altitude, the sun is much hotter at lower temps. You can be chilly in the shade and in the direct sunlight burn in a few minutes.
