for which the Red Packs don't work for?

After using Derby and Shark (for which I didn't like), I tried the Red Pack but it pulls something fierce. I hear that it's a wonderful blade for most others so I'm wondering how strange is my beard?

BTW, I use Astra and it works quite well. I'm going to try the Feather blade tonight.

The red packs are very forgiving blades. Perhaps feathers will work for you. Good luck.

I thought the red were ok. Didn't get great results out of Derby. Astra and Feather, yes! Those were good.

It all come to down to YMMV!

I have had good results with feather not so good with red ip or derby. Have some astras on hand I haven't tried yet.

I wasn't impressed with the Reds, either. I have found the yellow Gillette 7 O'Clocks and Feathers work well for me. I've had two shaves with the Iridiums which seem very similar to the Gillette Yellows. I recommend all three as blades to try.

Reds and my face do not get along. Feathers work good and Astras are the best so far. I am going to give the Derby's and crystals another go around before I move to my next group of samples.

The Reds felt very smooth to me, but required an extra pass, which led to irritation.

The Astras, on the other hand, were also smooth (at least after the first shave) and provided a much closer shave without the need for an extra pass.

I really wanted to like the Reds, being a particularly "frugal" person, but I did not end up liking them. Still, I hung onto a few just to see how they felt in the future or with new razors. They are certainly not the worst blade I ever used (those being the Merkurs).

The reds work well for me in the sense that they don't pull. They're very smooth and rarely cause irritation. Feathers are great but can cause irritation if I'm not careful. I tried Astras and thought that they were a very good balance of sharpness and smoothness. Derby blades are the only ones that don't agree with me - 1 good shave and irritation after that so I avoid them completely.

I didn't like many of the blades that seem to be the most popular on here. I hated Derbys and wasn't impressed with the Reds or Feathers. But you just don't know that until you try them.

Astras and Gillette 7 O'clocks (yellow) feel the best on my face.

I also didn't like the reds. Gave me my worst case of razor burn yet on my mustache area... no other blade ever did that.

No your not alone all of us are different as far as blades that work for them. I tried the Reds and they were okay only for me. I am a Feather guy now since they seem to work the best for me. Try as many as you can and then decide.

I have a feeling they don't really work for me. Not a blade I used very often and it's been a while, but I tried one in my SS this morning and I could feel definite tugging. I never get this with my usual - Feather blades. I still have 7 unopened 10 packs of Red IPs so I'm considering PIFing them to a better home if the next few tries are no better, instead of having them sat in my bathroom cabinet forevermore.
