Every time I go into the bathroom, I find myself sniffing my shaving brush. At first, it was just to monitor how the residual badger smell was dissipating after shampooing it about 5-6 times. Now that the smell is gone, I just enjoy the scent of the brush. Am I odd? Is it a newbie thing?

Dunno how odd it is, or how much of a newbie thing it is, but know you are not alone, I often do the same thing. I have made some interesting observations tho... some T&H creams have a sent that lingers a long time in a brush compared to other soaps/creams I've used so far...
I do it all the time. Fear not, most of us are odd in one way or another with our shaving obsessions.
Not at all odd. This type of behavior is well documented in AD and represents a phenomenon known as 'compulsive rituals'.

Sniffing brushes?

Not odd at all. Everytime I go to the bathroom, before I leave, I grab a brush or a stick of Arko or some other soap and sniff away.
I enjoy the taste of alum dripping from my upper lip ... enough said. We are all deranged in our own way

I'm finding the same thing with my T&H samples. Sometimes the T&H scent has lingered even after using the brush with a different cream. I'd rather the brush smell like badger than a cream scent I don't like.

Um...I'll have to work on that one. It must be an aquired taste.
Luckily I've not hit a sample of the T&H were the smell wasn't at least tolerable till it fades from the brush.
You're not an official oddity until you squirt Pinaud up your nose.

I'd say that you are odd if you don't sniff your brushes (and soaps, aftershaves, etc).
