Aftershave Stuff for Oily Skin Question

So I have oily skin and as usual, I'm over-analyzing my options. I'm thinking of using a witch-hazel but I don't want to exacerbate my oily condition. I used to use aftershave, but I grew tired of the bad, painful alcohol burn. Additional, I would like to use it on my head also (yes, I'm a head-shaver).

Any suggestions?

The Booster's line is very good stuff and low in alcohol as well..

Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave would be something to look into also.

The "aftershave milks" might work too but I have little experience with them.

I have oily skin and after reading several posts on here stating that higher alcohol content = hyper oil gland production, I began using the low/no alcohol products. This indeed seems to be the case as my face doesn't get nearly as oily during the day as it used to.

I have to be careful with balms though. Most I can't use because they're too heavy.

My skin is on the oily side of neutral, so I mostly stay away from balms (although not always).

Of course, it needs to be said that I'm not opposed to alcohol burn -- I actually enjoy it the feel of it. But, IMO, if you want to keep the burn to a minimum, your best bets are Royall (Lyme, Bay Rhum or Muske), L'Occitane CADE AS splash, or DR Harris Arlington Splash. If you want to spend less coin, you can go with Mennen Skin Bracer (the new stuff doesn't have nearly the kick of the old stuff), or even the gold standard -- Aqua Velva. They are all splashes, which will help keep your skin from getting too greasy and, to me at least, none of them has much of an alcohol burn.

Oh, and don't worry about over-intellectualizing this stuff. That is exactly why most of us stick around here!!

Good luck!
