Hey guys, I have a little issue here. A little background (optional reading material) info before my actual question:
I've just started shaving again after two months of just letting it grow (I really haven't had the time because of papers and exams) and I noticed something that never have been an issue before. I'm a flute major at the conservatory and during practising I noticed that my intonation (how "in-tune" each note is by itself - even though the flute is tuned, most of the notes is a little off) was way off! A large part of intonation on flute is done by using both lips to alter the vertical placement of the flute - lifting it adjusts both the pitch and tone quality to fit the high register and, similarly, lowering it does the same for the low register. The dry skin on my face made the flute stick to the skin, making the vertical adjustments impossible to perform. I've just started paying close attention to intonation, so that's probably why I haven't noticed this earlier. This is very important for me, because intonation is a critical component in my exam concert.
I therefore need to know if there's an aftershave that doesn't dry out my skin like this. I used the Nivea Replenishing balm after this shave - it's alcohol free, so I know it isn't that. Are there aftershaves with a moisturizing effect or should I maybe try a separate moisturizer in addition to aftershave?
