Advice on razor

Hello all, great site. I have recently started shaving with a safety razor and really like the results. I currently have a parker 82r and a 1947 gillette super speed. I really like the shave of the gillette, but the length of the parker. Any advice on what would be a good compromise of the 2. I also have a merkur 34c (I don't care for this one at all). I really prefer a tto, and something along the vintage lines. Thanks in advance for any input you all can offer. J

Welcome to B&B.

If I follow your post, you are asking if the was a super speed made with a longer handle. The answer to that would be yes. The Lady Gillette has a following that enjoys shaving with them.

Also Gillette made a Super Adjustable with a long black handle that was a TTO type. Many fellows say this was the best adjustable Gillette ever made.

Enjoy the adventure....

To the OP.... keep in mind just because it is called a Lady Gillette doesn't mean there is anything feminine about it... it is for all intents and purpose a SS with a long handle

The Gillette Aristocrats have the same length handle as the SS but they are beefier and heavier so they have a nice feel in your hand. You may like those too.

you both took the words right out of my mouth +1. i have the parker 22r its a good razor i keep it in my line up but have been using my goodfella lately.but like previously stated the ladies Gillette is a good razor pretty easy to find too.

The long-handled Super Adjustable is a great razor, but won't have the same balance as a Super Speed.

The poor, lonely, and forgotten Knack (Gillette's last TTO in the US) is basically the last generation Super Speed head on top of a longer handle. Balances well, and performs as good as any SS.

thank you all for you input. I will look all these up today. Does anyone have any experience with the 1968 n2.

+1 on the Schick Korona-I recently acquired one and was very pleased with it. It is slightly more aggressive than a superspeed, nicely balanced, gave a great shave. It ust is not as finely finished as a Gillette.
