Adios, ATG?

After a bit more than six months of wetshaving, today I got my first two-pass shave. I went WTG using my Gilette Slim adjustable set on 7 with a Crystal blade. I dialed it down to 6 for an XTG pass, and liked the results so much I decided to forego the ATG pass.

I guess the real test will come when I try to do a two-pass shave using one of my non-adjustable razors (40s SS, Ming Shi, and 1970s Schick Injector), but the Slim has become my go-to razor; in fact, I haven't shaved with anything else since I got the Slim about six weeks ago.

Funny thing that you posted this, I've been going XTG ear to nose, then nose to ear using a Gillette Slide type of technique and while I'm not getting the level of BBS that ATG passes give, I'm getting absolutely great shaves. I've not done any WTG or ATG passes in a few weeks now. I might not go back to that type of pass as a regular part of my routine.

I love my Slim, it has a great weight and the settings cover a good range of shaves. Just wait until you can crank it up to 9...wow!
