Adidas Dynamic Pulse Aftershave

I was interested in trying this aftershave. I remember liking the scent of Dynamic Pulse deodorant, body wash, etc., and I heard that this aftershave had menthol, witch hazel, and other skin goodies in it. When I got to the store to pick it up, the ingredients were a litany of solvents and other additives among some alcohol and allantoin. Has this product undergone reforumlation recently? If so, does anyone know of any trusted sources where I could find the aftershave that contains menthol, witch hazel, etc.? Thanks in advance!

SPEICK! Love that AS. (no menthol, though)

Proraso! Love it, too. (has parabens, if I recall correctly)

Otherwise, there's some all natural stuff at health food places.

I've smelled all the flavors and they're not bad. Haven't worn any, so I don't know how it dries down, and I don't how well it tends to the skin, but the prices are excellent and the ingredient list is nice.

I like the Dynamic Pulse. The last few bottles I have picked up (I normally keep one in stock) list witchhazel in it's proper name, and menthol, but neither are first on the list.

Hey Walt,

I think my post was a bit convoluted. What I meant was that I want the Dynamic Pulse aftershave that contains menthol, allantoin, witch hazel etc.; unfortunately, the A/S I found locally does not have these ingredients.

Speick and Proraso are 1 and 2 in my aftershave den right now. I have them to thank for my current ASAD

Hi Ray,

Where and when did you get it? I checked Rite-Aid, CVS, and some other stores to no avail. I really like the scent of the Dynamic Pulse, but want to get the more "skin friendly" version, if it's still out there.

The last couple of times I bought it, I had to go to either Food Lion or Kroger, so it's possible they have old stock.

Yep! My bad, I misread 'THE' as 'AN'.

I've seen DP at Walmart, if that helps.

The "newer" bottles have more ingredients listed. I personally think it's the "real" names of the chemicals instead of names like "Witch Hazel" and "Menthol" that we're used to seeing. I could be wrong though as I haven't researched this yet, just my opinion.

I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, no Hammamelis virginiana or hexahydrothymol spelled out or anything like that. Looks like yet another product that's gone to the dark side of reformulation

You may be right about the ingredients . . . but none of us will ever know because (unlike other AS companies) It is impossible to call Adidas and talk to anyone who knows anything about their after shave products. I tried for a half an hour once and got routed all over the country talking to people who knew about sneakers, and athletic gear but no one knew a thing about their AS line.

For the life of me I don't know why people think of menthol as a "skin goodie." It's probably skin-neutral, at best. Some skin experts actually think menthol is more of an irritant than anything else.

Skin goodies to me would include: witchhazel, glycerin, aloe vera, allantoin, etc.

No question it's an irritant in anything more than very small doses.

But in moderation it's definitely a skin feel-goodie, for those who like it a little brisk.

Yeah, it FEELS good. But that's not how I would define a "skin goodie," which I think of as a substance that's GOOD FOR the skin. Menthol, sadly, is not.
