What's new

A Word of thanks to BB (Whipped Dog brushes)

I started out with a Omega 49 Boar Brush. It's good in different applications. I am happy with the product.

That said I wanted to diversify my set up (RAD?) and get a badger brush. There are a number of happy users here talking up Larry's silver tips from whipped dog. I was skeptical because the price is lower. Should I go Resin handle or Firehouse? Well I pulled the trigger for my wife and myself getting two silver tip resin handle (Ivory, Black Silver Marble) and they arrived yesterday.

Gentlemen/Ladies I am extremely pleased with the process and with the product. Larry gives you what you need to get rid of initial odor and then these lather monsters are ready to go. It's a great addition to the collection. Thank you guys for talking about this product. I am glad to have found it.

This forum is a great resource and I just wanted to say thanks! :thumbup1:

Awesome score! I recently just heard about Whipped Dog and have been really interested in getting another brush to add to my collection. The prices are very reasonable and from what I've read they are great products. Congrats again and I hope they bring you many more days of fine lathering!

Shave on!

Nice! I got a Silvertip in a resin handle(white, 22mm) a little while ago myself. Great lather maker. Mine's a bit of a shedder, though. Do you have that problem?

During the first day we did the soak as instructed. We opted to whip up some later instead of using shampoo. We did get a little bit of shedding. The following day I didn't notice too much. Maybe a strand or so. How long has it been on going for you?

I lost maybe half a dozen when I did the soak and lather. Then I did the lather and let dry overnight and lost five or six more. I've lost two to four each time I've used it(four uses). It's slowed down a lot, but lost a good bit in the process. It's not so much that it's noticeable, though, either visually or while in use.

I have to second this - Larry is great to work with. After two sub-par brushes (probably my fault in picking them) I corresponded with Larry and he helped get me hooked up with the proper brush. I got my silvertip resin marble handle brush in the mail just three days after placing the order (it helps living in the same part of Texas as Larry) and even got the free OxyClean and an aftershave sample with it. The brush is great, though it's a bit of a lather hog right now, something I'm sure will change with more use as the brush is still basically brand new.

I do have to mention what a pleasure it is to do business with Larry. Very fast to respond, even on weekends. Quick turnaround time. Very recommended.

What's the loft of that brush? Must be a mean face latherer!

scotch, congrats on your two new brushes! Glad that you're happy with them. Larry's reputation as a great vendor and a stand-up guy is well-deserved.

I got a 24" marble resin brush from Larry a month or so ago. Like said above, they shed a bit at first and I had a chat with Larry about it. After some conversation he asked that I try using a toothbrush to "comb the hell" out of the brush (while it's dry). I assume this helped bring out any hairs that were loose but not yet released. After doing that I've only had a couple of hairs at first and now nothing. I've been using it regularly and do agree it's quite a lather hog, but it seems to be calming down.

I was just telling him this, but Larry really is a dream to work with. He's probably too nice with his customers (I really hope he doesn't get taken advantage of) with his amazing customer service and prices. I've already directed several people his way from my experiences with him. He's a genuinely nice guy who seems to be trying to help people out with products and information. This of course makes him the very definition of an enabler, but hey, that's not always bad on this side of the fence, is it? ;>
