A really bad shave with really good results?

I tried Godrej limes for the first time. Dunno if the cream just had too much water or what, but the shave was painful and I had some weepers. A half hour later my face feels totally fine and is BBS. I'm confused. Any body else have similar experiences with this cream?

I actually did the exact same thing with Godrej Deluxe this morning! Weird.

These creams are often a love/hate situation for me. They smell rather good and the shaves can be fantastic, but they can also leave you feeling a little raw. I think they are just a little thin, and maybe a more generous dollop of cream is in order for the future.

I can't say if had similar experiences but sometimes a shave may feel a little rough and turns out to be quite nice. Perhaps the lime was sensitizing your skin.

I've not had trouble with lime before. But maybe it wasn't real lime extract. Does Godrej even use real lime extract?

I have a similar experience with Godrej. It feels a little 'off' on my skin, like it is too old or I didn't do something right. But the shave is always nice. Perhaps more cream is needed, as it can be a little thin. Or perhaps it's the lanolin, although it's just speculation from me.

I don't think it's the lanolin for me. I tried Musgo cream, it gave me a very comfortable shave that was too cushiony. Probably something else going on.

Nothing to do with the lather but my three Rolls razors give me some of the finest smooth shaves but they feel rough whilst shaving. Not the most comfortable shave next to a DE but brilliant results!

There have been times when I've thought I've had a horrid shave (usually technique) but it's turned out all ok with both Godreg and Prorasso.
