A Question For The Ladies

my wife used one of my old brushes and some proraso cream the other night to shave her legs, and loved the shave, but wasn't nuts about the smell

anybody have suggestions of a cream (or even a soap) that generates a similar lather but smells more, er, girly?

I ordered the TOBS sample pack from Shaving Essentials and my wife happily took the rose, almond and other scents that I didn't care for. It's a good way for both of you to find something you like.

Seconded on the sampler packs. There is a lot out there that she might like. She might try rose, lavender, coconut, or almond. If she's willing to try soaps, Mama Bear has a number of floral scents and a few soaps specifically made for women.

in the meantime while browsing at shaving essentials, i saw that they carry cremo at a decent price - i've used it (sample) and liked it very much - and the sort of earl grey tea smell ought to be fairly inoffensive to her - so i ordered a couple tubes of that

if she gets into using the brush and cream then i'll nab a sampler for her

other ideas welcome too

+1 on Kiss My Face. My wife like the Kiss My Face Lavender. She loves the moisturizing effect, the scent, and the convenience of the pump bottle that she keeps in the shower.

+1 on the lime suggestions. I have some Colonel's lime that my sister likes, and she also liked the almond. Recognizing everything a little better now, I had an ex that used some TOBS; lavender, I think, to shave her legs and pits.

this morning she said she was going to shave her legs, and i said "would you like to try a double edge?"

to my amazement, she said yes

so i slid a fresh derby into my 1960 super speed, and heated some water in the tea kettle

got the brush good and soaked and whipped up a nice lather with some cremo

she only got a couple of nicks - and she said that she gets those a lot even with her gillette venus

so i think we've got another convert - she seemed to enjoy the shave and thought it was closer

can't wait for the blue lady i bought for her to arrive

she did mention that she thought it was cool that you could get so many creams and soaps in different fragrances - so i think there will be a sampler in our future

Mine enjoys TOBS rose as well. In fact, now she gets irritated if I use it.
