A nice little find in the wild

Had a nice little score today. Found a Rocket and an Ever Ready. The Rocket is a 1956 British no 58 set. Looks great and will look better after a little cleaning. I'm pretty stoked about it! Picked up the Ready just because. I may get brave enough to try one one day

Go straight to your nearest pharmacy and pick up a pack of GEM SE blades. Pop one in that Ever Ready and prepare to be amazed. It's no different using it than a DE shaving, but my experience has been that a SE shave is soooo much closer than a DE shave. It is the closest thing to a straight razor shave as you will find.

You will enjoy using that 1912 SE you picked up.

Many who have tried that razor have put away their DE razors for good.

Another great find for you. I've found that rocket to be a tad bit aggressive for me bit I may tame it one day. Finding a rocket in Texas. How cool.

Nice looking razors, the rocket looks more like a Parat than a #58...

Fridays are Fishtastic!
Get the blades from CVS. Since using carbon steel, I won't go back to stainless. Lay the head flat on the WTG stroke. As you become comfortable with the ER, you can start playing with angle.

Whoops typo, meant 59 set. I think it looks like this. Could be wrong. Now I just need that case...

Thanks. On a whim I stopped in at the store and bazinga!

That Ever Ready handle is gorgeous!

Thanks, I don't know a lot about the SE's. I do have a GEM Micromatic that I haven't used yet. One more thing to try

I looked at a CVS and Walgreens today. No dice. Guess I'll have to look at the town on the other side of where I live. I KNOW they're there...

the 1912 is an awesome razor and there is virtually no learning curve provided you can control your pressure. I have used mine for face and head shaving and can highly recommend it.
