A little help

I just get this 1958 British TV Super-Speed.
This one take some extra cleaning work to find out that the plating is gone in more than one place.. but after some effort I managed to get the silo door working again (I even found a spider web and other stuff inside the handle).
The razor now open and close fine...
BUT!!!

The silo doors don't open completely... I got to push them a little bit to get them in a position that allow me to put a blade inside.

It's not a real problem (I think)... I just found it annoying..
Any suggestion?

I'm not sure that's a TV. I've been wrong before. At least 3 times, I've got 3 ex wives! I think if you will drop a little oil down the handle and put a drop on each pin on the end caps, the doors will start working better.

I already tried with WD-40... Maybe I just need to be a little bit patient with the cleaning process ...

Their nice little razors :)

Shame about the plating and the door, if you don't mind me asking, did you pay alot for it?

I came across a Fat Boy and a red tip of similar vintage, the red tip was a bit slow but the FB was worse in both the adjuster knob and the doors being very, very stiff.
I boiled some water(note I said water not the razor)and placed both in a plastic tub with some oxy type dish soap and just let them soak til the water went cool, the red tip freed up but the FB was now in the state the red tip was in so both went back for another boiling water soak.
after the second soak a drop or two of light machine oil down the handle shaft and a drop on the adjuster knob freed it right up.
Aside from the former 8 legged tenant you've got who knows how many years of built up shave cream/soap residue with whisker stubble re-bar in there so another good long soak wouldn't hurt to try.

That's not a tv Superspeed. It's a regular 50s flare-tip.

really??
I got the same info printed (carved?) on the head of the razor that Mr razor shows in this one http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece%20solid%20guard%20bar/1958%20British%20TV.jpg or even in this one http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece solid guard bar/1960s French Regular Super-Speed Set.jpg
But non of the signs shows in this one http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Pi...lar Super-Speed Gift Set beschriftet Logo.jpg

I had one that had a slow door. I think that's what I did, then just worked the knob repeatedly.

I'll keep working on the razor... I know that in some point it should be nice and smooth

I'd recommend dropping some gun oil or scissor oil instead of WD-40. WD-40 evaporates quickly and more useful in removing rusted components.
