I have a pretty sensitive neck and it can be a pain, literally, to wear a tie to work. The office I work in is business casual, but as The Rev. Willie G. put it, some women like a sharp dressed man. So I like to wear a tie on occasion.
For the past few months I've been shaving mostly with a straight and DE when I'm in a hurry or when the misses complains about how much time I spend shaving.
I typically shave at night, esp. with the straights, to make sure if there are any "catastrophes" they have a night to work themselves out. I have a pretty sensitive neck anyway so the straights help in that regard.
So yesterday I was in a hurry in the morning. Loaded a travel Tech with a fresh Derby. Used a C&E BBB and KMF mint cream followed with C.O. Bigelow's Rose water skin tonic, don't know the exact name, and followed with a light "coat" of Burt's Bees Miracle Salve after cold water for a moisturizer.
Long story ending: I was able to wear a tie with no irritation until the end of the day there was a bit. I've been wetshaving/DE shaving for about two years and I only have to say that I believe my technique has improved.
Does anybody else have any other "remedies" or tricks for the neck and wearing ties or buttoning the sometimes dreaded top button?
