A Christmas gift starter kit

Do you think I could put one together for $20 or less.

I was thinking these:

$10 Tech<---might be able to get these for less.

$12 VDH soap, brush, bowl

$ 5 Nivea ASB

$ 27 Total

How could I get this down to $20.00

The CVS drugstore chain has been carrying a starter set consisting of a cheap brush, a bowl, and a puck of VDH soap for 7 or 8 dollars.

Just a few thoughts...... you could skip the ASB, maybe just some drug store WH? I usually find techs and super speeds for 5 bucks at antique malls.... The CVS kit is the VDH kit, if it is 7-8 you wouldn 't save anything but if it is 12 then you could skip the kit just get the same brush and a puck of VDH and save a few bucks.....Don 't forget some blades! Is the 7 dollars that big of a deal? I think gentlemen's best has a starter kit with free shipping for 25?

Sometimes Dollar General carries Nivea ASB deeply discounted. I got a bunch for like $1.50 some months back. Not sure if that was a one time thing but could be worth looking at.

I'd think finding a stater razor at an antique store could be easily found for $3-$5.
Mug/Bowl is completely unnecessary. Who doesn't have something already that would get them by? Coffee mug, cereal bowl, etc.
VDH boar brush is great, and a good deal at $5.
VDH soap for $1.50
Dollar general has Barbasol ASB for $3

Total ~$13-$15

I was going to buy the GB Great Morning kit for my father for Xmas but I don't think I'll get it in time..!!! Might take my chances though, as the last few items from the states have arrived quickly!

Great ideas Vez.

They can find their own bowls, and I will pay a visit to the Dollar General, or perhaps Big Lots.

It looks like the Shea brush is rated a bit better than a VDH, and the extra $5.00 is probably worth it if I can get it locally.
