This is one just coming off the bench for Nigel, he asked for the Amethyst acrylic scales...
I wanted a slightly different look then I had done on the others in this color and what I really love about ripping my own blanks is that by simply swithching the axis of the cut you can change the look of the pattern from swirled to marbled... So we have the marbled look on these I used a violet wedge, and did bi-metal pins and washers adding the starred center pin Conchos and a decorated center pin post.... The acrylic was finished using Micro-mesh up to 12000 grit then some Novus 1-2-3 polish... I really tried to capture the spark that you can see in the scales while holding them in yer hand, but I just can't ever seem to get the true depth in pics....
I have found these newer Friodurs really take a much smoother edge by running the entire line of Naniwa SS (1-3-5-8-10-12) then about 10 laps on my CeOx leather bench strop...
