I need some ID confirmation on two of my 40 super speeds. I have always been under the assumption that the one on the left is a 49 and the one on the right is a 1950, because of the case changes. Thank you!

Those both look very sweet - I never noticed the difference in the cases before. Mr. Razor shows your right hand case with a 1951 W-1 which would seem to indicate that style is from a later year. My only 40's SS is in the style case you have as the 1949, but was found with the older style cream colored blade case, but those blades have Z date codes.
I got nothing but they are fantastic looking razor sets. Congratulations.
The cases like the one shown on the right were set up for a wire rack display (grooves on the sides) and the blade pack was supported differently. This began in 1950 (with larger twenty pack blade dispeners which they could accomodate as well).

ON PACKAGE", and in 1950 this transitioned to "PAT. NOS. ON PKG.". Date codes were also in transition from 1950, so examples may have a date code, or may not. Examples stamped V-3 are known to exist[1], but date codes became more widespread in 1951 (W) and later.
