30's Aristocrat

I've got a 30's Aristocrat that needs replating. Will this thing need to be disassembled to replate? Also, would you replate in gold, as original, or in nickel for the sake of durability? I intend to use this.

The gold on most gillettes was done very thinly. Thats the easiest way to identify a replate, as it is much thicker. I will say from personal experience that there is no debate on durability. Nickel is easier to clean and is much much more durable. Its also probably cheaper. If you plan on using it, I would definitely go the nickel route. At the end of the day its to shave with, collectors want original, so for functional purposes, I'd go with nickel, but thats just my 2 cents
