2 revelations in one day!

Had two things happen today that really surprised me:

1. First Shave with Merkur Futur (actually first adjustable ever!)... Stunning!
2. Visited Pasteur's Pharmacy in Midtown Manhattan! Did not walk out empty handed!!! I'm always thinking about buying stuff from the online guys and they had a whole lot of what I was curious about. I spent about an hour just smelling different products. I'm in NYC a lot and this could be dangerous!

When you shaved with the adjustable did you change the settings with each pass? and if so did you go aggressive-milder with each pass or vice-versa

I started at 2.5 WTG... Went to 3 XTG... Dialed it back to 2.5 for ATG... Mind you this was my FIRST shave with an adjustable so I'm definitely going to experiment. The weight of the Futur I think makes a huge difference in itself! That's some heavy metal...

Congratulations on the Futur. It is the only razor I own now.

Is the Futur worth the price? Have you used the Merkur progressive? Is the size more annoying than beneficial? I have that on my wish list of razors to get. I'm hoping that will be my birthday present this year.

Never tried the Progress. I read up about both the Progress and Futur and there seemed to be more acclaim for the latter. It is the heaviest razor I own and I like how the heft cut through the whiskers.
