1915 Milady Decolette

I am currently in Iowa at my in-laws. My mother in law said she was cleaning some stuff left over from when her mother passed away. She gave me a plastic box and said "I know you collect razors if you want this you can have it. If not I will throw it away."

It was a cased 1915 Milady Decollette. The case is very nice. The razor handle is green. Not sure if I want to do anything with it. I know if I clean it I will lose the plating.

That is my first old type, you sure can't beat the price. Pictures will have to wait until next week.

give it a 15 minute soak in CLR or lime-away...that will restore whatever beauty is left in it

Scrubbing bubbles should clean it up beautifully.

i think thats too harsh..maybe a toothbrush and srub bubbles?

I have used it to degrunge a few graveyard razors,they came out sans all tarnish and oxidation,but the good stuff was left in tact..I did a blue star lady gillette and it did not remove the blue..you can always experiment on the bottom of the razor....

That is my normal course for cleaning razors. I still think I will loose the plating. I will take before and after pictures and let you all know how it came out.
