What's new

1910 Single Ring

I haven’t been on here in a while but that doesn’t mean I’m not looking for something new for the collection. Found this one on a buy it now and snagged it. Then found the box in the same manner but missing the internals. It did shine up quite well, serial number is B559507 and all the teeth are straight and there is no cracks on the barrel. Even tho the box is a newer style it still looks great for the single ring.

Looks like you got a good one! Congrats.
Have you tried it? @Njguy1977 What do you think of the shave?

I haven't tried it out yet, I plan on giving it a go this weekend and see how it shaves. There is even an old school Gillette Blue blade left in it from when I got it in the mail. Trust me I'm not leaving that in there and seeing if its still sharp enough to shave with.

Ill keep ya posted on how it shaves after this weekend....rumor has it you have to be quite careful when using it..we shall see.

Well today was the first time I used the single ring and I'm quite impressed with how close it was. I have never been able to get a close shave with an open comb razor until today. It was comparable to a straight razor shave in closeness. The weight was very light and for the most part a solid shave with only a few weepers under my chin area. There isn't much protection between the blade and your face, but once you got the angle right it was a smooth as it could be. I'm quite impressed and to be honest the 1910 hits the mark in every way except you need to have a light hand and get the right angle because if you don't you will know about it.

The earlier US Gillettes are very efficient, much more so than most of the '40s, and definitely the post-war models.

Happy shaving!👋🙂
