What are your "must have" shaving soaps/creams the should form a part of

There are no must-haves, imo. Plenty of good products available. Differences are subtle. No "one size fits all" in shaving software.
I realize that this is probably not a popular opinion.

Same as you...

Arko
Tabac (stick or bowl)

Cream for me is Trumper's Coconut Oil Cream - Nothing comes close.

.

Palmolive stick, grated into a Tupperware container. To say that it punches above its weight is an understatement.

For me:

Hard Soap: Tabac / Proraso
Cream: GFT Spanish Leather / TOBS Avocado / TOBS Eton College
Stick: Arko / Tabac / TOBS Sandalwood

Grooming Dept
Tallow & Steel

These two are the only must have brands for me. I could happily shave with any soap from either of these two makers and want for nothing else. Being completely content in knowing that I'm using the best stuff the planet has to offer.

Everyone's Shave den. (Particularly new wet shavers)

For me:

Hard Soap: Tabac
Cream: Palmolive
Stick: Arko.

Tabac and Arko, two of the most divisive scents i'm aware of, divisive as in abhorred by many, going to send a lot of people running in another direction, not a very positive introduction. No experience with Palmolive.

I’m of the opinion that everyone is different and not every soap will go well with every face.

In saying that, I’d say arko and the proraso range of soaps should be a must have for new starters looking for a top quality product that is easy on the wallet.

I got moves like Jagger
Hard soap: ... Tabac
Stick: ........... Speick and Arko
Cream: ........ Bah! Who needs creams? :001_tongu (Speick, if you must)
AS: .............. Lilac Vegetal

Hmmm. - Right now:
Hard Soap - Saponificio Varesino and Martin de Candre
Less Hard - way too many but DG, WK, T+S, Eufros all try worthy
Cream - Antica Barbieria Colla
Post-Shave Products - Chatillon Lux

All recommendations are - “if they fit your taste”.
Kinda more like a ‘must try’ list.

Soft Soap: Sudsy Soapery
Cream: Would have been Maca Root if they hadn't supposedly discontinued it
Afterhsave: Tend Skin

three-tu-tu, three-tu-tu
Lots of good products out there.

For beginners MdC and Castle Forbes would be good because they lather easier and faster than most. Ultimate Comfort cream is also in this category.

IMO there are no ‘must haves,’ there are plenty that one ‘should try.’ My suggestions (as a soap guy only):

Haslinger schafmilch
Cella
Tabac
Arko

From there you can start to determine what you really like (and this is a DEEP RABBIT HOLE!)
