Straight Razor Acquisition Thread

Well, this arrived today. I have a few plans that some people may not agree with. Bog oak scales and Torx / Hex 3.2mm pins.

Finally managed to get back on the forum after having some computer problems. Found this one today at a local antique shop for $19.50. Don't know if the the strop and case are original to the razor but it looks old enough. The razor is marked,"WOLF ACIER FONDU" which was the mark of John Shepherd ca. 1770- 1795. Horn handles have unusual circle designs carved into them.Pile side is missing a small piece of horn near the pivot pin.

I have a Kabeso 14 that is quite nice.
Yours looks like it might be even 7/8 or 8/8? Mine is a little less, but it is REALLY thin grind and it does have a really pronounced "singing note" when the edge is plucked- should be like a jet engine when I shave with it :001_302:

I picked this Geo Wostenhom & Son up for $28 a little while ago...anyone know anything about the box? I was wondering about the Liverpool on it.

"Look what I found"
A flea market find from the past weekend. Needed some polish and love and cleaned up nicely. It is made by Friedr Dennert - Solingen Foche. The scales are a yellow swirl, like cracked ice only lemon flavored. 6/8, round point, top jimps and thumb notch. Has a happy footballer emblem as a finishing touch.

Two small straight razors - a W. Greaves & Sons and a Wade & Butcher. I'm curious to know if these two were actually full size at one point in time and then cut down or if they came from the manufacturer in this diminutive size.

By the way, that's the latest Balvenie Tun behind them and it is quite delicious.
