A lot of people don't know that Santana's version was a cover though he certainly made the song more well known. There's also a lot of people who didn't know that Fleetwood Mac was a legit blues band before Buckingham, C. McVie and Nicks came on board to make it the pop band most people know. Peter Green was the real deal, a great blues player.

I have the 7-CD box set of Buddy Rich's Argo, EmArcy and Verve Small Group Sessions. I found it at a can't ignore it price but I was still reluctant to buy it because I'm not a fan of drum solos. Thankfully, there aren't a lot of extended solos so that made it easier to tolerate for me. Having said that, it was interesting, to a point, listening to his solos because he was a very impressive drummer. His small group sessions really swing! Excellent listing...

While hanging in Washington Square Park. A friend talked me into seeing David Bowie's ex guitar player.
Paper writeup"May 9, 1983: A New York Post review of the band’s gig at New York’s Bottom Line asserts that the stage had been “rendered to cinders by some of the most explosively original guitarmanship to grace the New York stage in quite some time.”

And this was the first time i saw him, before Texas Flood was released. Played TF then did an hour of Hendrix songs:w00t:

My Mom met Al Hirt and Pete Fountain at the super bowl in 1975. He signed it for her birthday. I have both of these artists on LP and listen to them often.
