I really dislike the original of this song, by the way. Fantastically over the top sad, sentimental--nonsense really. I do not like my tears jerked quite so forcibly. But this is a masterful country vocal. I guess I like Merle Haggard way more than George Jones, too. Sacrilege, I know.
