So, down to CVS for my first bottle of Clubman Classic. Wow! Love the stuff. ... Maybe, as she said in the James Bond movie, 'Sometimes the old ways are the best.'
Yeah, you're in the right place.
Welcome home, friend.

I'm pretty new to wet shaving, and just bought a double edged razor after going 30 years with the cartridge stuff. Anyway, I've been looking at all the cool stuff on the forum and found a bunch of Clubman fans. Gotta love a brand name like Clubman. The posts all talked about the old barbershop scent smell, how it reminded them of their youth and locker rooms and even the dudes that handle the restroom details in the old casinos (the attendants are pretty much gone, now, but occasionally you'll see them).
So, down to CVS for my first bottle of Clubman Classic. Wow! Love the stuff. After a good shave with a Merkur with some TOBS (so far, Mr. Taylor is my fav, along with Eton) and a splash or two of Clubman...I'm feeling solid and alive. Love seeing all the posts here of the 'classic' scents. And along with the high-end razors, blades, creams and brushes, there's something retro yet full circle about going back to the basic after shave lotions. Maybe, as she said in the James Bond movie, 'Sometimes the old ways are the best.'
It always feels like I just slapped some Barbicide on my face.
You would love Lucky Tiger Aspen. I call it spicy Barbicide berries.
+1Look at Master or Gabel's for inexpensive-yet-effective.
I found some Aqua Velva Ice Sport at the grocery store a few months ago and picked up two bottles. I like it, but not as much as the Ice Blue!
I couldn't pass up a bottle of Afta for $2.12. The fresh flavor smells awesome.
Here are some of the places in Dallas that I have had good finds at. I was mostly interested in the Pinaud line. And most are beauty supply stores because, for the life of me, I cannot seem to find an actual barber supply place. I'm fairly new here and hope this list in no way violates any forum rules. I am in no way affiliated with any of these places. Just put in a little foot work is all. I have found no source for DE blades to speak of yet. I found most of these looking for pomades. Also most of these places have various sizes of Clubman Classic, I just did not include that as it is so common.

9 pages deep and no love for the Booster line? June Clover, Polar Ice and Oriental Spice - all great!

All this talk makes me think I need to quit beating around the bush...maybe I'll just cut to the chase and pick up some Barbicide from Sally's for my morning shave. Now that'll be starting the day "barbershop clean"!

Hey, brother. I never even heard of that stuff until you just mentioned it. How do you like it?
Thanks to all for the suggestions, I didn't want to spend a lot and find out it doesn't work for me.
