Crown Razor Co., Boston. Looks pretty straightforward.
Finished her up tonight, along with a Rubberset 600N.
Is it maple? And what did you finish it with? Looks nice and natural.
Thank you! Yes, Birdseye Maple and Kirinite, finished in CA.Is it maple? And what did you finish it with? Looks nice and natural.
Slowly but surelyA new project. Got a box of straights from mother. Evidently been ancient family members' forever and she forgot about them. This is the first up to bat. Rust being worked on. Scales soaking in neetsfoot oil. Biggest issue will be trying to learn pinning - this is my first restore project.

I'll study! Thank you!Nice looking razor, @Snurgblat. Took me a while to learn the peening/pinning. This video helped me:
I ended up getting a 4 oz chasing hammer from Rio Grande and use the smaller head. They also make the hammer in 3 oz.

Yeah, I haven't used it before and my test attempt was pretty patchy, although it did make the wood look awesome.Nice job! I like the shape and the grain. I still have not made scales out of wood, but most folks seem to use CA on wood scales.
I am sure that someone else with more experience will reply.
