OMG that was my favorite. We actually had food cooked in our school and this was served once a week. Later (late 20’s early 30’s)there was a restaurant that served this close to my apartment . I’m mostly vegetarian now but would make an exception for an open faced turkey sandwich.We just served this classic for lunch at work yesterday. Hot Turkey Sandwich with Macaroni Salad:

We had fish around once a week. Flounder was popular in the South, along with catfish. There was also cod, haddock, etc. One of the best fish was rainbow trout that you caught yourself.I never realised flounder was so popular...
