Yesterday my 45th birthday shave, rating 10/10.
Happy birthday ... belatedly!

I liked my soap combo so much yesterday I just thought, "Command-c, command-v..."

tempImagew8QkCF.jpg

Today I used more Black Cherry Glacial in the soap ratio and it was a little out of balance. But the Kai blade on use #3 felt the same as the first two; it was comfortable throughout. The Razorock German 37 slant is really treating me well right now. Challenging passes on the neck are going better with this than anything else I've used in a long time.

I got another very even, DFS+ result without much irritation and just a few weepers that closed up quickly on their own. When this blade quits, I'll be trying some others in this razor. Have a good weekend everyone.

Irritation free shave, but the blade was tuggy and noticeably dulled down. Still, probably didn’t even need any after shave products so that’s nice.

  • Something wasn't meshing between this pre-shave oil and soap. On the first pass the soap initially was very dry. I stopped and added water and reworked the lather on my face. It still acted very dry. I think it was the pre-shave maybe being applied too thick. The second pass was much better
  • I missed a small patch on my chin, even with at two pass shave - LOL

- Brush: Spiffo 2-Band Badger
- Razor: Razorock Hawk SE
- Blade: Feather Artist Club Pro (2)
- Soap: B&M Reserve Waves
- Aftershave: B&M Reserve Waves
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

Relaxing Saturday night shave after watching the Leafs pummel the Canucks. 👍 Almost BBS with zero irritation or weepers.

I am comfortable with the Hawk SE razor after a couple of shaves and I really like the Feather AC Pro blades. Looking forward to trying KAI and Feather Super Pros when they land in the next few days. I still prefer DE razors, but a SE is a fun razor to change it up IMO.

Waves is one of my favourite warm weather scents and my 2-band Spiffo is getting better and better after each use.

Razor Yaqi AC on RR BarberPole Handle (with an o-ring washer)
Blade Shick Proline P-30 (US) 3rd

Awesome lather from the soap. Pleasant scent plus a thickly creamy and slick lather...
Tried using the AC razor with the RazoRock Stainless Handle and tightened further with an o-ring washer and paired with the blade was so much better. Very smooth and comfortable for 3passes without any issues for a mostly bbs finish. Excellent aftershaves capped off an enjoyable session. Rating 10/10!

Sunday morning

Vintage Hobson of Leamington 6/8 round point straight razor
Vulfix 2234 Super Badger brush
Wickham's "Irish Fern" soap
Vintage (1980s) Pierre Cardin aftershave

A nice combination for a bright morning. The edge on the Hobson is feeling good, and the brush does well with the soap. I don't often think of Pierre Cardin with the forest (moorland?) scents, but it's a good fit.

Felt like a "10", but I've just found a miniscule tuft of ATG stubble under my right nostril, so I'll knock it down to a "9".
