"Look what I found"
This was a rescue at the beginning of the month. Leather is flat with no cuts with a Russian tooled flesh side and linen completely usable. The problem is the leather is so dried out, it was stiff as a board. Was afraid it was going to snap in half on my way home. After disassemble I started working saddle soap into the strop. Worked the soap into a paste, applied on both sides to work in, and after waiting buffed off. Alternating with a puck of vintage Williams soap, pasting, working in and buffing. After several round slowly put life back into the leather. After spending some time burnishing over a wine bottle thru several days, added a few drops of Neatsfoot oil on the backside. Now it ready to go, soft and supple. The linen was much more simple. A good soaking bath and some time with a scrub brush. I tried something new, don’t know if it helped. I added several aspirin to the wash water. Was told aspirin will helping in whiting. Don’t know if it helped, but is now much cleaner and saved the logo
