That may be worse than writing "per say".I might have said this one before, and forgive me if I have, but I am getting older and repeating your stories is a perq of the elderly, but I have a friend who insists on using "for say" when she means "per se."
Then again, it depends on the context. "If you drive in that direction for, say, 200 miles, you will run out of gas."
