I enjoyed about 90% of this nice Saturday morning shave, on a whim I picked up a puck of Col Conk Bay Rum last week and this was the first time I used it, I bloomed the puck in hot water for a few minutes and used an Omega Boar brush, I loaded the brush and it exploded in gobs of lather, I mean tons of it. The smell was subtle but very nice. I did my standard 2 pass/touch up shave and wow, although it produced tons of lather, the Col Conk did not deliver the protection or slickness of a more traditional tallow based shave soap. I just about jumped through the roof when I finished with the cold water and alum, burn city. I know that I did not get aggressive on the shave as this was the same basic setup that I used on Friday. I didn't go for a BBS and I was floored at the amount of irritation I received. I added more cold water to calm the burn down and skipped the cooling balm and just went with the sensitive Balm by Nivea, the burning went away after about 20 minutes. So needless to say I won't be using the Conk again if it had more protection I would love it. Hoping everyone enjoys the weekend.

Nice Saturday shave decided to break out some Cade, haven't used it in a while. I like this soap pretty easy to lather decent although weak scent and fairly slick. Wish it had a better post shave feel though I find it a little drying.
