SE Sunday, April 14th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm AC type with a Yaqi Milano 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Small head parts makes myself to work on a wash cloth. Very nimble and affordable SE razor. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai captain Titian mild(6) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice bright lavender scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi " Lucky Casino's" 26mm timber wolf synthetic knot, excellent lather generator, Heavenly luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber. Very enjoyable brush to use in my large collection of different brushes.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Arc Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 small nick (operator error)= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur SE razor with a Kai mild blade.

Razor and blade are an excellent match. The brush is comfy-cozy and a prodigious latherer. The slight scent of shea butter wafting from the otherwise unscented soap is delicious. The bay rum is warm and luscious.

The combination hits like a home run from The Mick.

I am ready to declare the Carbon Cx-Damascus with the original plate to be my favorite razor. One of the things that made the original plate a darling for me was the tactile and audible feedback it provided, which allowed one to always know what the razor was doing. The etching pattern of the Damascus steel adds to that sense of feel and control - I can feel the texture from the etched Damascus surface going across my skin and can tell how much the guard or cap is touching. It reminds me of a classic BMW sports car before it had electronic steering and electronic nannies, which had plenty of road feel and communication with the driver via feedback. Despite the added feel, the razor remains smooth throughout.

Siam is so pleasant. A floral scent. The ST-1 knot from Oumo is really good - it offers the softness of some of the best synthetic knots available but is denser than those knots. It also has more backbone. Lathering with it is super easy and it’s really easy to clean up after the shave.
