The brush was offered at shavemyface in 2006. It was made by shavemac. I don't remember the wood in particular though. As most shavemac brushes, it's great indeed!

Thanks, it's great being here. Can't help but wonder why I waited so long to make the switch from the foam can and Fusion to this (I guess I've been wet shaving before, but I almost wouldn't consider putting it in the same field as this).

Thanks! I'd really like to get more even lighting though. And I tend to sell some stuff on auction sites every now and then, so I guess I could use that as an excuse for actually getting a light tent. I already have the flashes, so it's not a big investment

About the hardware, well, I thought I'd get good stuff to start out with. It still saves me money compared to the cartridge razors (or, who am I kidding. It probably won't now that I'm hooked on this).

Gentlemen's Best Signature Cologne

A really great shave today. This is the first time I tried the Macca Root SC and it really is nice stuff. I'm always surprised at how well the Merkur shaves, even if it's not as much fun to use as the old Gillettes. Finally, topping it off with GB is always a pleasure, indeed.

[BTW, don't judge my lather by the pic. By the time I took the picture, after 3 passes and then dawdling around for 10-15 minutes, it was a little dried out. ]

I think the amount of lather in your brush says it all!
I have a Body Shop nearby but I don't know why never bothered to get a tub of their cream. Your pic has made my mind, but I will have to postpone that acquisition for next month (or else my darling wife will be strangling me!)
