I've fallen in love with two band hair after using my TGN 22mm 2 band XH and I'm looking at buying another two band brush. So far I'm torn between the SOC 2 band or a Thater 4125/2 bulb (should I just buy both?), but I am open to any other recommendations. Also, will there be a noticeable difference when using these brushes compared to the TGN knot or should I just stick with what I have and save the money? I've certainly been impressed with the brush for a $22 knot. If it helps, I face lather and mainly use soaps. Price wise I am looking at spending under $200.

For me those are Thäter bulbs (I have the 4125/1) and a Simpson Duke 3 in Two Band...

If you face lather I would point you to the Da Vinci 293 bead handle brush. It is slowly becoming my go to brush for face lathering. Larger brush with extremely soft tips and lots of body to it. Not stiff or stitchy just solid and soft.

For me, it's not even close - my Rooney 3XL is the best 2-band I have - better than my Simpson (#59) and Thater (4125/3). Find an extra $40, buy the Rooney and your quest will end with you smiling every time you use it.
I only have 2, but I reallllly love my SOC 2-Band. Very nice bang for your buck brush.

The D01 two band from Shavemac is another solid choice. I have the Rudy Vey B&B handle with that knot and it is perfect for your hardest soaps or richest creams.

I recently got a Milk Churn two band. It is wonderful. Easy to lather with and holds enough for three or four passes. Also, I love the handle. Large enough to grip without "pinching" and small enough to not be heavy or bulky. I could not be happier!
Without a doubt my Rooney 2XL (original batch NOT current) followed VERY closely by a Thater 2 band bulb.
My Simpson Tulip 2 in 2 band Super is awesome. Generally I prefer the 3 band Super, but the Tulip is excellent.
My 2-Band Canica Chubby has become THE brush amongst its brethren. It is a 30mm bulb in TGN Finest. I bought it from Vlad and couldn't be happier. He sold it because of it having too much scritch for him; for me, it's a wondrous mass of face lathering self indulgence.

What's wrong with the current batch of Rooney 2-band
I have a Heritage Stubby 2XL 2-Band flown in from the US in September and expect to love it just as much as I love my Chubby 2 2-Band, Duke 3 2-Band, Thäter 2-Band and my Shavemac D01 2-Band.......
