Your Choice, Your Blade

If you could pick 2 blades that you have used over your wetshaving career, which ones worked for you best? Looking for smooth blades with good sharpness... Let me know!

Since you didn't specify Razor Type: Vintage Schick Plus Platinum & Vintage Schick Krona, both for Injectors, Rapira (Black/Blue/Pink box) & Astra SP for DE Razors, PAL Carbon Steel for GEM & Ever-Ready Razors.

Feather, Gillette 7 o'clocks (super platinum and sharp edge) Astras, Lord.

sorry, i can't just pick 2. i switch between all these.

I prefer a more forgiving blade, so it's a red pack personna in my SuperSpeed, Merkur blade in my 34G. Astra SP is a little sharper and is my #2 blade for both razors.

I don't know but I've been reading a hell of a lot of forums and a lot of people are talking about the Polsilver Iridium blades and the Gillette Silver and blue.... saying that they are the top 2 blades for sharpness and smoothness....well they said feather was the sharpest but you lose a lot of smoothness with the feather, the gillette you keep! What do you all think?

Feathers ARE excellent.. but I found that I can only use 1 edge for 1 shave a piece... That's 2 shaves total. The 3rd shave with a Feather for me is like a blood drive. Gilllette Silver Blues are not that smooth IMO. I have 100 of them after being wowed by them, but then I moved on to smooth blades like the IP Red, 7oclock Black, Polsilver, Sputnik Teflon, 7oclock Yellow... Voskhods are good for 3 shaves and ALL the Rapiras are good..

Lemme take it further..
IP red= 3 super smooth shaves.
7oclock yellow(sharp edge) = 5-7 smooth and close shaves.. very sharp.
7oclock black(super platinum) = 5-7 smooth and close shaves.. very smooth. IP red on roids.
Polsilver = 4-7 smooth shaves that glide like an IP red.. If you can't get these then go with 7oclock blacks/yellows which I prefer.
Sputnik teflons = 3-5 very smooth shaves..
Voskhods - 3 shaves at most for me. I use the method where it's edge 1 for the first shave, edge 2 for the second, then both edges for the 3rd.

I've heard the blacks were good.. but I've seriously been looking for over 3 hours on blades and I continue to see people say that the Gillette Silver Blues and the Polsilvers are the top 2 for quality and sharpness.... I know it's bad on personal preference but I've read a lot of preference tonight and it seems like these two are legit...I was told Lords were good too and it was the worst shave I've ever had.. so I don't know yet... I don't know whether I should just go ahead and buy 100 of the polsilivers and get like 50 of the Gillette Silver Blues.. or just get a couple 5's to see how they go?
