exactly. I work in retail and last week we started getting our Christmas stuff in. Anyway....Pumpkins. That's how I know Halloween is coming.
....an entire zombie apocolypse show set up in your neighbors yard...fences, dummies, sound effects...I'm jealous...

Nope ... that's how I know it's time to hide chocolate eggs around the house.
After another miserable soggy summer in cattle country you get that first sharp dry North breeze of the year. That and lots of pumpkins.

You beat me to it - first thing I thought of was Christmas stuff.
We don't get these up in Canada... I wanted to buy some while in Seattle but we kept going to "healthy" grocery stores.
I don't think we can PIF cereal here. But if you are ever in New York I would love to share a bowl.

They're putting up all of these stores in NYC called "The Spirit." I can't figure it out: are these things permanent? There are a million of them all over Manhattan. It's a costume store. How many costume stores do people in Manhattan need? Ricky's NYC becomes a costume store at this time of year and there are the all year Halloween stores in the Village. How many costume stores are necessary?!?!? It's one day of the year!!!! Why are people buying costumes in May?!?! Wait, maybe I don't want to know...
When you get that random flyer in the mail that offers about 3 dozen slutty costumes. Where's the scary stuff?
