As if there were any doubt...The Yankees will be retuning to the series. As it has been said...the road to the World Series leads through NYC. :p

So...How do you all find the matchup and who will win.

Ill predict Yankees in 6.

Wonder how many vacant seats there will be in Yankee Stadium for the World Series:001_smile

As much at I would like to see the Phillies Win, I am sure it will be the yankees again.

Im just so thrilled the Yankees are back in. And im so pissed im back in Texas right now. Im trying to justify the $1k plus or minus to fly up there for one game. I was at the home opener, so this would be so fitting.

It's a shame Pedro won't get another chance to hear "who's your daddy?" at the stadium. :001_smile

Been a Yankees fan since the late 50's, watched Yogi, Mickey, Roger, managed by Casey, Saturday afternoons, Pee Wee Reese and Dizzy Dean broadcasters. Man, I'm old.

The Yanks better score more runs or Philadelphia will win.

I'm afraid my hatred of the Yankees skews my views, but there are multiple reasons why I don't like them. For me, I get stuck on the mere number of Yankees/former Yankees that are in the Mitchell Report and all that we have heard about A-Roid. From a moral and ethical standpoint, I cannot support a team that has deemed it acceptable to cheat.

Also, last I checked, the Phillies won the World Series last year. They are an offensive juggernaut and have great pitching. I'm picking the NL.

As a long time Cleveland Indians fan, it feels strange to get ready to watch Cliff Lee vs CC for the opening game! Go Phils!

Lee is 4-4 in 9 starts, with 8 HRs, a 5.00+ ERA and nearly .300 BA against him vs. the Yanks in his career...so I'm giving the big edge to CC in this matchup.

Lee's stuff has been positively filthy in the postseason, and the Phils have pretty much eaten CC for lunch. I still like the Phils in 6, but I have a feeling that this will go the distance and be a classic like we haven't seen in a decade or more.

Peter Gammons said it best: "The Phillies are the best AL team in the NL." For all the pitching the Yankees have, the Phillies are probably the best hitting team in baseball; they can really put up some numbers. Add that to Brad Lidge seeming to click at just the right time, Cliff Lee throwing some serious stuff in the postseason and Charlie Manuel being one of the best managers in the game, and I think the Phillies take it in six. It's going to be a good series.
