Wilkinson Sword (plastic blue dish) Soap

Here in the UK you can get a blue plastic soap dish (with soap) for £2 from the supermarket.

I had been using more expensive soaps and thought for £2 what the hell lets give the wilco sword soap a try. I love it, great smell and later.

anyobe else tried it and have any views?

I have used the Wilkinson Sword Shave stick and it is fantastic. It contains tallow, lanolin and glycerin. I always get a great shave whenever I use it.

Is the bowl a hard or soft soap?

The Wilkinson soap blue dish has a completely different formulation, with no relation whatsoever with the Wilkinson shave stick.
Here's the ingredients list of the soap in the blue dish:

Ingredients: Aqua, Stearic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Cocos Nuciferia, Parfum, Coconut Acid, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methypropional, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool

No tallow, no lanolin. It's an entirely different soap. Never tried it, but the opinions that I've read so far are not-so-good, and that's the reason that I never bought it.

EDIT: In the image below is the composition of the Wilkinson shave stick. As you can see, these are two completely different soaps.

Nice!

It was the first product I tried with a DE since I could find it at the supermarket. Once I learned how to lather soap properly, I got a good shave from the Wilkinson bowl. Smell and other properties nothing to write home about but it is far preferable to anything in a can if you're stuck for shaving stuff somewhere. However, usually right next to it you will find Palmolive shave sticks which, once you know how to use one, work better and are cheaper.

I have the stick here, I did not try the bowl. The stick is fantastic. Soapy scent, very mild, lathers well!

I tried it once, unfortunately I hated the smell.

Ive never tried a stick, asda do the palmoliveshave stick and i seen wlco shave sticks somewhere cheap recently

will pick up a palm and a wilco stick and see whats what

Picked it up on a whim about a week ago and opened it and gave it a sniff.
Definitely not the scent for me as it's uber chemically and masculine. I might try it once or I might just PIF it.

I have trouble getting a good lather from this stuff, reminds me of my days of trying Williams. Smells like soap. Maybe it works better with some water than others?

I'm glad it works for you though. As far as cheap soaps/creams go, I'll stick with the green tubed Palmolive. :001_rolle

I found some in a pharmacy in Canada while visiting and bought it just because it was there. Not my favorite, but it does a decent job. Smells clean and fresh to me.

I bought the bowl just before I started DE shaving. I cant get a decent lather from it and I'm not too keen on the scent. I used it twice and binned the soap but saved the bowl - it may come in useful for something

I have used this soap in the gym regularly due to ease of a plastic bowl. Where I live these soaps go for about $3.50 CDN. However, the brick and mortar stores had informed me that they will be discontinuing this product. So I stocked up on about 5 of these plastic bowls. It's a decent soap no major issues with it.

It works fine for me.
Nothing spectacular to write home about, but a satisfactory product.
It's the VDH of the Great White North.
