Walmart Wilkinson blades get mixed reviews here, but then all blades do that. If you are lucky enough to get good shaves from this blade, then you will have no problem finding more replacements. (unless Walmart changes brands again) I too bought out the entire rack after I tried shaving with them. It is my favorite blade for my Redtip Superspeed.
The German Wilkie blades are pretty good and is is GREAT to find this nice of a blade if you are out and about and don't have a blade to put in your razor.
I don't think that they use the same ceramic + PTFE (teflon) coating process that the older English made Wilkinson blades used.
I will be on shave #9 tomorrow with an older British Wilkinson blade and it shows no sign of dulling or wanting to be replaced. It is looking like it is going to be a 14 shave/day blade (maybe more if it keeps up like it has)
I saw these at Walmart last week and got a bunch. Heck of a deal. The same blade in Germany a few weeks ago cost $5 Euros at a drugstore. One of my favorite blades so far.
Not a fan of Wilkinson's but I bought a pack in the US in '09 for around the same price (oddly enough when I was dragged to Bed, Bath and Beyond by my ironically enough German gf)!
But the poster above was right...you find these at the discounters here in Germany for ~3 €...not sure why they cost so much more here? Maybe just not enough of a market for it (in fact you can even buy a cheap plastic DE razor + a pack of Wilk's for 5-7 € at DM, sort of similar to Walgreens minus the Px drugs)
The Walmart Wilkies are decent blades, but make no mistake... they are not made by Wilkinson. They are not the same blade at all.
What is more, lately they can be hard to find at walmart. I guess P&G is getting tough with the Evil Empire. Walmart will probably quit carrying them to accommodate a powerful supplier. That is my prediction.
