Why is shaving cream white?

Any company make colored shaving creams? They all seem to be white.

Even redi whip has brown whipped cream nowadays.

Just thought maybe there was a reason. Seems that all car tires are black too....even though bicycle tires have colors.

GFT Violet is far from white! I think it's just manufacturers choice to add or leave out certain coloring ingredients

TOBS has coloured shave cream. Trumper too (as mentioned above). The Palmolive shave cream in Oz is green also. I never had a stain issue with those...

Imagine black shaving cream on your face? Awesome

Japan makes a black shave soap. it's not that good from what I heard but it's black and the lather is grey...

i've got a tube of Palmolive cream (vintage from 50's) that's as green as green can be!

my guess is most keep it white or neutral color to avoid staining brushes....???

If one is so inclined, they can always add food coloring to brighten up their shave. Most reputable brands will not alter the taste of the soap ... for all you Arkolytes out there who enjoy thinly sliced Arko carpaccio!

Plenty are colored you just haven't tried them yet ;) T&H color their creams, Musgo is colored, and plenty more that I just can't think of right now.

I accidently ordered a shaving soap intended for women and it was pink. But it worked!

Well someone liked it.

Thank you for that clause. Shaving set that gave the husband, who gladly amazing. It was good to have your advice but I have puzzled on what to choose because I do not use. I have now willing to make a foam like whipped cream every morning, had said foam was not fresh, but it seems at first quite well that there is also a beginner. When we receive the acclaimed soap, and there is no pain and tingling, from beginning to end and I are pleased. It was good to give, please do your best in the future.

I cannot see the point in adding colour and therefore added cost. It does nothing to the function of lather. However, each to his own.

In the canned variety Noxzema had a green-colored foam version about five years ago. It was thin and runny. Palmolive EU tubed (brush-lather) cream is also green in the tube (not so green after lathering) and is actually not a bad cream.
