Most of use don't have the personality, or video editing skills to compete with Mantic.
As I learned the ropes of shaving with both a DE and a straight, I started to vary a little from what I was taught to suit the contours of my face. If I did a video now, it might not be a good one to follow. I could, however, probably do a pretty good one following the way I was initially taught and hope the camera didn't pick up the left over stubble.
Let me back track and say videos were a major contributor to my development as a straight razor shaver. It was because I had memorized Joel's strokes chapter and verse and continued to get bad shaves that a breakthrough took place. Clueless, I PM'd Joel describing what I was doing and with his help was able to determine that the blade was not honed properly. I learned that without assistance I might not have been able to achieve the kind of results I'm enjoying now. It's the reason I'm a B&B contributor and try to help others.

Not a bad idea. Having something to contrast mantic wouldn't hurt anything. As California Cajun said, he changed his routine to suite his face. Everyones face is different, but some are more alike than others. Getting to see various techniques performed by various people could make it a ton easier for noobs like me to "get" those basic, and advanced concepts that much quicker.
dfwde, let us know when you have you r first vid up. I suppose you could just start a new thread for new video links if there isn't one allready.

My girlfriend is a YouTube partner and want me to do wetshaving videos. I have approximately 0 personality but I'm sure she could edit some in for me right?

Mantic has indeed set the bar fairly high.
A couple of years ago I was asked to participate in a lathering tutorial and was all fired up. I made videos of my lathering technique and then realized, "oh oh, now what?" As it was, I was simply overwhelmed with too many other life altering activities at the time and finally had to scrap my participation from the project.
So I would imagine that there are many others that are just too busy with the rest of their lives to make AND edit good videos. Then figure out how to jump through the YouTube hoops, etc.

Errrrr, I'm not a terribly attractive sort of a bloke and I don't want to put people off.
we could create a "Badger & Blade" video channel on youtube, it's pretty simple to do.
There already is a B&B channel ... only a single video so far.

oh. guess i should have searched youtube before posting. sounds like a B&B video contest is what's needed. Folks could post their videos and then the B&B community could vote on the winner.
a sampler basket could be the prize. i have no idea who would provide the samples, just thinking out loud here.
