Whoops! There goes my soap

I was melting a puck of SCS into a mug today using the double-boiler method, or a slight variation of it—I put the mug on a steamer basket to keep it above the water. It was working, but taking forever, so I put a lid on the pot, figuring that would speed up the process a bit.

It sped it up a LOT; plus I lost track of time, and when I went to check on the soap, it was a big bubbling mess:tongue_sm

I'm still gonna take it for a whirl, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it underperforms. I think I'll stick to the cheese-graters from now on.

SCS soaps melt wonderfully in the microwave - 20 seconds and done :thumbup1: I have experienced no loss in lathering ability or scent doing it this way.

Most SCS soaps (the non CP soaps) are generally soft enough to press into a container with just a bit of effort. No need to melt or grate the soap.
